BUSSQ rallies for members to finish financial year on a high

29 July 2020

BUSSQ has delivered a top result for members this financial year in what has been a turbulent and challenging time.

For the 2019-20 financial year the Fund’s Balanced Growth superannuation option returned 2.46% and the Balanced Growth Income account option returned 1.83%.

This has positioned BUSSQ as one of the best performing balanced funds in Australia for the financial year, as rated by SuperRatings*.

Investment performance over the financial year can be split into two clear parts.

Over the first part of the year we delivered a steady increase in our Balanced Growth superannuation returns and then from February to June there was worldwide market volatility as a result of the Coronavirus outbreak.

Through this time, we performed strongly as one of the top Balanced funds rated by SuperRatings^ and we protected members from the full impact of this market volatility.

Our pre-mixed options, including our Balanced Growth options which most members hold, have a diversified portfolio of assets designed to weather some of the market ups and downs seen in volatile times. This combined with our investment strategy has seen BUSSQ members end the financial year in a better position than members of most other balanced funds.

Delivering long term growth

Performing strongly through these tough times for our members is important, but we remain firmly focused on long term performance as super is a long term investment.

We have continued to deliver strong long term returns above the median, helping our members maximise their retirement savings.
