Notes to the short form expenditure summary for the 2022/2023 financial year:

The expense categories are defined in the law so that some expenditure is required to be disclosed in multiple categories. This means, that some expenditure is included in more than one expense category and total expenditure is overstated.

Remuneration expenditure includes fees paid to Directors and Executives.

Promotion, marketing or sponsorship expenditure includes design, production and distribution of the Fund's promotional and educational materials, advertising and media, events, and sponsorships. This expenditure is necessary to grow the Fund and increase scale. This helps keep fees as low as possible.

Political donations - BUSSQ does not make political donations.

Industrial bodies are organisations registered under the Fair Work (Registered Organisations) Act 2009, for example, union and employer organisations. Payments may include some Directors’ fees and promotion, marketing and sponsorship expenditure.

Related party payments include when payments are made to BUSSQ subsidiary entities, for services purchased from an organisation in which BUSSQ also invests, or when a Director or Executive of BUSSQ is a Director or employee of an entity which provides services to BUSSQ, or when an associated entity of such an entity provides services to BUSSQ. Payments include promotion, marketing or sponsorship expenditure, Directors’ fees, arrears collection and other member services.
