BUSSQ is committed to responsible investing and as part of our focus on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) we are working to drive positive outcomes for continued sustainability in our investments.

Robina Town Centre, which forms part of our property investment portfolio is currently undergoing a transformation to have net zero emissions by 2028.

The shopping centre is now home to the largest rooftop solar array in the southern hemisphere with over 13,000 solar panels. This will generate 5,500kW power every hour and provide enough renewable electricity to power the equivalent of 1,205 homes or charge 755 million phones each year.

With a focus on sustainability, recycling initiatives have also been introduced at the centre which include capturing organic waste to compost instead of landfill, collecting oil for reprocessing and reuse as renewable energy, and collecting rainwater for use in the centre for toilets, irrigation, and external cleaning.

Community programs such as school tours, apprenticeships and kids cooking schools are also apart of Robina Town Centre’s commitment to sustainability and community vitality.
