We're here for you
We are required to act in the best interest of our members and want you to receive the benefit you're entitled to.
At BUSSQ, we have trained insurance specialists to assist you with the claims process. By having direct contact with you, it means we have a better understanding of your circumstances, and we can service you better. It's also important to note, that you do not require a solicitor to lodge an insurance claim.
We understand the building and construction industry and the related difficulties of working when disabled and are here to support you through the claims process.

Submit the form below if you would like a Binding Death Nomination form posted out for you to complete.
When making a claim, check:
- That you're a member of BUSSQ.
- Premiums for your insurance cover are being deducted from your super account.
- If you're claiming a disability benefit, that you meet the definition of Total and Permanent Disablement (TPD) and Total and Temporary Disablement for Income Protection insurance.
- If you're claiming an Income Protection benefit, that you can provide satisfactory proof that:
- if you're a permanent employee or self employed, you have worked an average of at least 15 hours per week over the 6 consecutive months prior to the date of disability; or
- if you're a casual employee or contractor, you have worked an average of at least 30 hours per week over the 24 consecutive months prior to the date of disability.
- if you're unable to provide the required proof, your claim will be declined.
- Examples of satisfactory proof include:
- invoices or document on company letterhead stating hours worked,
- copy of work contract for periods working as a contractor,
- pay slips.
Please note, a PAYG Payment Summary or Income Tax Return is not an acceptable form of proof, as it does not mention the hours worked. You'll also be required to provide proof of your income over the 12 months prior to the date of disability.
