Why does super get transferred to the ATO?

If your account has a balance below $6,000, no insurance, and has not received a contribution or rollover for 16 months, we may be required to transfer your account to the ATO as an Inactive Low Balance account.

Once this money is transferred to the ATO, they then seek to identify any active superannuation accounts you have and combine the super in to one of those accounts.

If you would prefer that your account is not transferred to the ATO, you can elect for your account to be excluded by completing the above form. Your election will expire after 16 months.

You can change your election at any time by calling us on 1800 622 877.

By completing this exclusion request, you're authorising us to act on your behalf and inform the ATO of your election.
