BUSSQ Balanced Growth Investment Performance
Media Statement - 28 August 2026
BUSSQ acknowledges that its Balanced Growth MySuper investment option did not pass the regulator’s annual performance test this year. This is a first year result and doesn’t change members’ access to their superannuation.
BUSSQ Chief Executive Officer Damian Wills said, “the fund has taken the result seriously and has been focused on improving outcomes for members.
We acknowledge and understand the importance of the performance test in providing transparency for members. It does not affect the security of members’ savings, and our Balanced Growth MySuper product remains open to new and existing members.”
BUSSQ has already implemented targeted actions to improve investment returns for members in the Balanced Growth option.
“Our priority is, and always has been, delivering strong retirement outcomes for our members. We conducted a holistic review of our investment strategy last year and implemented material changes to our investment strategy and portfolio, removing underperforming investment managers and moving to more indexed equity mandates.
We encourage members to speak with us if they need help. We are committed to being transparent with members and will keep them informed as we make further improvements”, said Wills.
BUSSQ will provide members with clear information about what the result means, the actions being taken, and where they can get support if they have questions.
